Duration 70 min
Sámi choreographer Elle Sofe Sara stages a mesmerizing combination of yoik, a traditional form of Sámi singing, and dance. Building on the importance of community and our belonging to nature, the piece creates a space for the complex and conflicting emotions that are aroused by the destruction of our ecosystem. Polyphonic songs, written by composer and professor of yoik Frode Fjellheim, are performed by seven female performers, who carry with them a powerful sensitivity and a deep yearning for kinship.
