Lia Rodrigues Companhia de Danças

Borda

27.+28.8.

Age recommendation: 12 years

Convinced of the transformative power of dance, the choreographer Lia Rodrigues combines artistic work and humanitarian engagement. Dance, for her, is a basic form of human development. In her new piece ten dancers follow the multi-layered meaning of the term “Borda”, which is Portuguese for border and threshold, but also for hem or decoration. Thereby the performance does not only discuss the distinction between groups and peoples, between the self and the other. The dancers are also in search for the possibilities and ambiguities of these interstices, intending to set the margins in motion, making them float and dance.
