The Festival Centre at HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU2) is the central meeting place for artists, viewers and festival staff to dance, converse and hang out. It contains the box office, the information desk and the WAU café & restaurant with its food and drinks. For this year’s centre a temporary pavilion has been designed by the Berlin architectural Office c/o now, who have not only realised projects in Germany, Austria and Norway but are also active in the field of urban research and architecture.
As in previous years the Bibliothek im August is open for interested readers on the top floor of HAU2. Inaugurated in 2016 with 100 books, the library is being extended every year: every festival artist has chosen three books that are important for his or her work and way of thinking. You can browse in the library’s pleasant atmosphere from Thursday to Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. Many performance formats will also take place here during the remaining festival, including "Scribe” or "Meet the Artist”. As such, the #MeToo-related talk "Challenges, Chances, Changes - The Gender Issue in Dance" will also take place here on 26.8. at 16:00.
