MONUMENT 0.4: LORES & PRAXES (a ritual of transformation)

In “MONUMENT 0: Haunted by Wars (1913–2013)”, Eszter Salamon collected war dances and tribal dances from crisis regions around the globe, placing the history of dance in dialogue with world history and recounting wartime narratives through the body alone. In her new work “MONUMENT 0.4: LORES & PRAXES (a ritual of transformation)”, the Hungarian choreographer and performer has taken these dances up once again in order to emphasise their ritual aspects. For this work, she has given the material the form of a six-hour performance and translated it into a museum context. Ten young performers will interpret the dances, with which the audience can interact playfully.
