We enter the last festival week with a colourful program, with one world premiere and four German premieres part of it. At Haus der Berliner Festispiele, streetdance merges with contemporary dance in Bruno Beltrãos INOAH. Sophiensæle will show M.A.R.S., in which Felix M. Ott and Bahar Temiz question the borders of their own bodies. Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch will perform Neues Stück II at Volksbühne. In the world premiere of The Waves, Noé Soulier investigates the implicit meaning behind gestures. Both powerful and tender, the catalan artist duo Mal Pelo will present the German premiere of The Fifth Winter at HAU1. In the provocative Paradise Now (1968-2018), the Belgian choreographer Michiel Vandevelde investigates the legacy of the 1968 generation together with 13 teenagers from fABULEUS. Silvia Gribaudi challenges the gaze of the viewers and raises the issue of how we look at others in R. OSA_10 EXERCISES FOR NEW VIRTUOSITIES. This year’s last performance is the family friendly show La Partida at Lilli-Hennoch-Sportplatz: free of charge, the spectators can cheer with Cia Vero Cendoya and enjoy the humorous game between contemporary dance and football.
Bibliothek im August opens its doors Thursday – Sunday from 16:00-21:00 and looks forward to your visit. On the 1.9., the library will host this festival’s edition last talk: In „1968 – Promise of Collectivity“ Andrej Mircev reflects together with Brenda Dixon-Gottschild and Michiel Vandevelde upon the promises of the 1968 movement. A highly recommended article on this topic is also featured in our Magazin im August.
